It’s official…my blog has a first name.

This blog will, hopefully, give you some insight into my crazy mind. The hope is that it’ll be a little bit of humor mixed with talk about Metal bands. So that being said…
- Iron Maiden’s new album “The Final Frontier” is set to drop on Aug 17th. If the first single ‘El Dorado’ is any indication it seems like a return to form for Maiden with it’s sound more reminiscent of their 80′s years. Then again Maiden have never really changed their sound. The formula of Harris’s bass, Murray’s galloping riffs and those chantable choruses have always remained intact as has Dickinsons’s voice. I liked “Brave New World” and even a couple tracks off of the plodding “A Matter of Life and Death” and even more craptacular “Dance of Death” with that terrible fucking cover in toll. It had the same Maiden trademarks but sounded less fullfilling. I of course will be trying to nail a review of it when it’s released.
- Steel Panther have a reality show that will debut this fall on Comedy Central in the states. It’s being developed by Brian Posehn the Metal comedian who has spawned a hit with ‘Metal By Numbers’ and most recently ‘More Metal Than You’ which you can check out here. If you’re unfamiliar with Panther they’re basically a parody of 80′s Hair Metal bands in their look and sound. Their songs are usually filled with the many excesses those bands indulged in. But they also have done a few songs, mostly covers, that are done with great skill showing their range of musicianship. Here’s a small sample. Warning: Contains some really cool, but graphic, language.
- I’m gonna end this blog with seagulls. They’re Gods silliest creatures. I’m sitting there on the waterfront watching the boats go by and he’s staring at me wondering if I’m eating something. Slowly making his way towards me. When I look over he stops and looks in the other direction. I see you! Silly little dipshit! I know what you want but you’ll get nothing!
